As an ex-smoker, I understand what a person goes through when they decide to quit smoking. The trials and tribulations in stopping and starting, the frustration, the anger, the bad temper, the irritability – am I ringing any bells yet?

We have all been there. However, if there was a way to stop smoking, that was easy, and had a success rate of over 90%, that is not just 90% stop smoking, that is 90% stop smoking and staying stopped - would you be interested? That is the important part – staying stopped! Anyone can stop smoking for a day, a week or even a month, but if you then start again, just think of all that wasted time and effort!

Stopping smoking can be incredibly difficult to do, a fact, if you go about it the wrong way!  When you go about it the right way, the easy way, the successful way, it can be a revelation and awe-inspiring. Why waste your good hard-earned money doing it the hard, difficult, and at times frustratingly boring way, when you have the opportunity to go along the easy and successful route that over 90% of my clients have done? Being a Non-smoker is not rocket science, being a Non-smoker is incredibly easy when you do it my way. That is not an arrogant and boastful statement; it is a fact!

Here is a little history.

My name is Chris Gill and I have been in practice since 1992, as a full time hypnotherapist, here at Hope Valley Hypnotherapy Practice. My office is conveniently located in the beautiful village of Castleton, which is in the Hope Valley, Derbyshire, only seventeen miles from Sheffield, and twenty miles from Manchester, in the heart of the High Peak near Buxton and Bakewell. For thirteen of those years I did what the majority of hypnotherapists did when helping a client to quit smoking. I used hypnosis to help boost the persons' incentive, motivation and will-power, for them to really want to quit smoking. Then I included an aversion part to connect smoking with something the person didn't like, usually a food or a drink. The majority of hypnotherapists still use this standard way. The overall success rate for stopping smoking and staying stopped, worked out at around the 60% level. To me that was not good enough, six people out of ten succeed but four fail. Therefore, after much research, I changed my old system completely, and over the past two years, I now have a success rate of over 90%!

and stay stopped!

Think about this you smoke 20 cigarettes a day. Each cigarette takes five or six minutes to smoke. Add all the cigarettes you have smoked together, it comes to about two hours. Therefore, what you know is that for two hours of your day you smoke – but for twenty-two hours of your day, you are a non-smoker! Just think about it. All that is happening is that for those two hours you are going back to smoking, the rest of the time, the majority of the time, you are already a non-smoker! It makes you think! This idea, this thought, this feeling of being a non-smoker is the important thing! 

Recently I was with an old friend of mine; someone asked him if he had ever smoked. He paused for a second and said yes he used to smoke, but he quit smoking ten years ago. I asked him about this, and he said being an ex-smoker at times was quite hard work!

The reason he found it hard work was in the language he used. It is like the old story of the pink elephant. If I ask you whatever you do DON’T THINK of a pink elephant, what do you do? You have to think of a pink elephant, not to think of a pink elephant! It has just the same effect with those 'ex-smokers', 'quit smokers', or 'given up smokers'. As soon as the words come out of their mouths, guess what comes into their mind, smoking!

They then use so much energy not smoking, that they feel uncomfortable, a bit frustrated, a feeling that something is just not quite right! What a waste of effort.

You don't think of smoking,
so no
waste of energy, simple really!

The reason my system works so successfully with over 90% of my clients, is that from our initial telephone conversation, through the two-hour session in my office, until the time you walk out of my door. You will have got it, you will actually be thinking of yourself, you will be feeling, you will see yourself as that 'non-smoker'.
